Job Description

Scope of Position:

  • Is responsible for ensuring that exports comply with customs regulations and law and meeting Expeditors expectations and requirements as outlined in Operations Performance Standards (OPS). Also work with Singapore Customs and control agencies and shippers to ensure documentation is complete to facilitate customs export declarations, Preferential Certificate of Origin (PCO) and Certificate of Origin (CO).
  • To provide exceptional customer service to both internal & external customers for timely freight booking and updating of key milestones for origin handling shipments.
Qualifications

Major Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Interact with our customers in processing their origin handling services for their ocean export shipments by following procedure set by the company in OPS, and meeting customer’s expectations.
  • Preparation & Updating of Internal/Customer SOP to ensure all customers’ requirements are in place
  • Ensure accurate and timely client and vendors billing for timely revenue recognition
  • Ensure permit(s) are approved prior to export from Singapore
  • Meet KPI standards in accordance with the Company’s procedures
  • Timely responses to emails and other form of communications within 24 hours
  • Escalation of problems to Management when necessary
  • Pass customs competency test and able to file for customs entry
  • Comply with Singapore Customs / Competent Authorities rules and regulations imposed as well as adhering compliance to Expeditors policy and expectations
  • Prepare and submit reports timely as required
  • Take up additional tasks as required to meet the Department’s needs
  • Meeting 52 hours Training hours / year.

Qualifications, Experience and Education Requirements

  • Minimum diploma tertiary educational level
  • Minimum 1-year related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Understanding of ocean documentation process is a plus.
  • Effective interpersonal skills, including proven abilities to listen, comprehend, effectively communicate clearly and concisely to obtain positive results.
  • Pro-active, strong organizational skills.
  • Good computer skills (Excel, Word) and problem-solving skills.
  • Fluent in written and spoken English.
  • Provide excellent support to both internal and external customers
  • Think positively with “CAN DO” and responsible attitude
  • Carry out tasks with great accuracy and in a timely manner
  • To be a good team player with teamwork spirit
  • To show initiative in all co-ordination work.

Working Condition

  • No more than normal physical effort or positional stress required. Intermittent walking, sitting or standing with normal expenditure of energy.
  • Good working environment, almost complete absence of disagreeable elements. Minimum exposure to adverse or hazardous working conditions.
