Job summary

Nanyang Technological University Singapore's School of Civil and Environmental Engineering seeks a Research Associate/Fellow to design and deliver Module D of the MCCS project: ABM and simulation forecasting long-term community adaptation to sea-level rise.

Ideal candidates have a PhD or strong MSc in a relevant field; strong ABM experience with Python (Mesa) or NetLogo; experience calibrating ABMs and publishing results; opportunity to contribute to reports, conferences and journals.

Qualifications

• PhD or strong master’s in a relevant field (CS, computational social science, complex systems or operations research).
• Strong ABM experience with Python (Mesa) and/or NetLogo.
• Experience calibrating ABMs empirically and publishing results.

Responsibilities

• Design, calibrate, and validate an Agent-Based Model for 15-year adaptation forecasting (Module D).
• Use archetype outputs from latent-class analysis as inputs to ABM agent profiles.
• Conduct scenario planning to forecast long-term adaptation trends.
• Contribute to project reports, conference presentations, and top-tier journal publications.
