Job summary

The Government Technology Agency (GovTech) in Singapore invites applications for a Lecturer, Aerospace Engineering (Mechanical) in the School of Engineering on a 2-year contract. Candidates should hold a degree in Aerospace/Mechanical Engineering, with experience in aircraft maintenance, MRO, and aviation operations.

Qualifications

• Degree in Aerospace/Mechanical Engineering or equivalent.
• Experience with aircraft maintenance, aerospace engineering, airline operations and MRO environments.
• Strong knowledge of aircraft mechanical systems, propulsion systems, aircraft structures, and maintenance practices.
• Passionate about education and possess strong interest in nurturing, teaching, mentoring and interacting with students.
• Experience in training/mentoring would be an advantage.
• CAAS B1 licence would be an advantage.
• Good communication and interpersonal skills.
• Self-driven, independent and possess readiness to work as a team.

Responsibilities

• Develop, deliver, and assess aerospace-related adult learning courses and diploma modules, aligned with industry needs and focused on practical and experiential learning.
• Monitor and guide student progress and learning outcomes in modules, projects, and workplace learning activities.
• Build and maintain industry partnerships to identify and spearhead new opportunities and collaborations with industry.
• Support course management team in curriculum review, development and other administrative tasks.
• Support student development in the area of education, including serving as advisor for students and leading overseas trips.
• Participate in pedagogical training, and keep updated with industry developments and trends.
• Work on industry or consultancy project to stay relevant in your profession.
• Lead or support applied R&D projects in collaboration with industry partners, focusing on technology development for aerospace industry.
