    Position Title: Field InvestigatorNumber of Positions: 2Start Date: 25 February, 2025Project Title: Creating inclusive marketplaces through public policy A study on transgender experiences of marketplace marginalization in Karnataka and MaharashtraLocation: Karnataka and MaharashtraMonthly Emolument: INR 20,000 (consolidated)Position Summary:We are seeking a dedicated Field Investigator to contribute to the study on marketplace marginalization of transgenders in Karnataka and Maharashtra. This role is ideal for postgraduates in social sciences who have an interest in policy research, social equity, and community-based data collection. The selected candidate will engage directly with transgender individuals, conduct surveys, and assist in data analysis.Key Responsibilities: Conduct extensive fieldwork across Karnataka and Maharashtra, engaging with transgender individuals, NGOs, and community leaders. Design and administer surveys and semi-structured interviews to gather qualitative and quantitative data. Record, organize, and manage collected data systematically for analysis. Assist in organizing stakeholder meetings and focus group discussions. Prepare field reports and contribute to knowledge dissemination activities.Qualifications and Experience: Postgraduate degree in a social science discipline with a minimum of 55%. Prior experience in fieldwork, community engagement, or policy research is desirable. Proficiency in data collection methods. Fluency in either Marathi or Kannada.Contract Tenure and Compensation:The selected candidate is expected to join the project immediately. The candidate will be offered a contractual appointment for a period of up to 3 to 6 months. The consolidated emolument shall be Rs. 20,000/- per month.
