Job description

What The Role Is

As an Administrative Executive/ Senior Administrative Executive in the Umar Pulavar Tamil Language Centre (UPTLC), you will support the Centre Director to manage finance and procurement work, and provide assistance in the areas of personnel, estate management and general administration to ensure the UPTLC’s smooth operations.

What You Will Be Working On

  • Manage budgeting and financial operations, which include annual budgeting, compilation of monthly financial reports, monitoring of accounts and budget utilisation and payment processing
  • Manage the procurement of goods and services as a Purchasing Officer, which involves the sourcing of suppliers on the government procurement portal (GeBIZ), raising the invitation to quote (ITQ), issuance of direct orders/ purchase orders, liaising with contractors/ vendors and managing contracts
  • Handle enquiries from public and internal stakeholders
  • Provide support for estate management duties


What We Are Looking For

  • Relevant training and/ or past working experience in finance, procurement and budgeting would be preferred
  • Good knowledge and understanding of the government finance and procurement process and systems (e.g. NSF@Gov, GeBIZ) would be an advantage
  • Meticulousness and ability to multi-task
  • Ability to work well in teams as well as independently in a fast-paced environment
  • Good customer-service orientation and people management skills
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Office applications and comfortable with using IT systems
