Position Overview

FirstCom Academy is seeking experienced and dynamic Adjunct Trainers (Soft Skills) to deliver high-quality adult training programmes in areas such as communication, emotional intelligence, personal effectiveness, and professional development. This role is ideal for certified trainers who are passionate about adult learning and have real-world experience delivering soft skills training. Prior experience in sales or customer-facing roles is a strong advantage, as it enhances the practical relevance of training content.

Key Responsibilities

Training Delivery
  • Conduct WSQ-accredited soft skills courses offered by FirstCom Academy, covering topics such as communication, leadership, productivity, creative thinking, emotional intelligence, and personal effectiveness.
  • Apply real-world examples and hands-on demonstrations to reinforce key concepts and learning outcomes.
  • Participate in curriculum improvements and deliver course content in alignment with FirstCom’s curriculum and learning standards.
  • Facilitate manual and digital assessments to evaluate and track learner performance and progress.
  • Ensure learners meet the specified course learning objectives through engaging and effective teaching methods.

Assessment Integrity

  • Uphold the highest standards of assessment integrity, ensuring that assessments follow WSQ guidelines and internal policies.
  • Ensure that all assessment questions are marked, and learners' answers are accurately evaluated.
  • Verify that all questions are answered and attempted by learners. Incomplete responses should not be marked as “pass.”
  • Conduct and properly document oral recovery sessions, ensuring transparency and consistency.

Administrative Responsibilities

  • Complete and submit Assessment Summary Records (ASRs) and other required documentation in a timely manner.
  • Maintain accurate records of attendance, assessments, and learner-related data.
  • Provide feedback to ensure that all training materials remain up-to-date and relevant in accordance with industry standards.

Learner Support and Engagement

  • Provide constructive feedback on assessments and offer guidance for learners to improve.
  • Address learner concerns professionally, promoting a supportive and positive learning environment.
  • Foster inclusivity and respect in the classroom, ensuring equal learning opportunities for all students.

Compliance and Reporting

  • Adhere to FirstCom’s policies, WSQ standards, and regulatory requirements.
  • Participate in ongoing professional development to stay current with educational trends and best practices.
  • Report any non-compliance or assessment integrity issues to management promptly.

Collaboration and Teamwork

  • Collaborate effectively with other trainers, curriculum developers, and operational teams to ensure a cohesive learning experience.
Requirements
Accreditation
  • Possess ACTA (Advanced Certificate in Training and Assessment) or ACLP (Advanced Certificate in Learning and Performance).
Experience
  • Minimum 2 years of experience as a soft skills trainer or corporate coach for adult learners.
  • Strong background in delivering topics such as communication, leadership, customer service, emotional intelligence, or team collaboration.
  • Prior working experience in sales, business development, or customer-facing roles is a plus.
Skills
  • Strong facilitation and presentation skills with the ability to simplify concepts for adult learners.
  • Skilled in managing classroom dynamics and encouraging active participation.
  • Able to connect soft skills topics to practical, real-world applications.
