Job description

The Munich Re LH2 Regional Structured Solutions team is a dynamic and high-performing team renowned for designing and delivering bespoke non-traditional reinsurance solutions (financial reinsurance) tailored to the unique needs of clients across the Asia Pacific, Middle East, and Africa regions. We are looking for an Actuarial Analyst to take on a pivotal role in the in-force management of financial reinsurance within these regions.

Your Role
Data management
  • Collaborate with Structured Solutions local teams to ensure accurate and timely receipt of client data for in-force management of LH2 financial reinsurance
  • Conduct timely checks and analysis to ensure data integrity and reasonableness
Monitoring
  • Support the monitoring and performance analysis of LH2 financial reinsurance, identifying trends and opportunities for optimization
  • Prepare regular monitoring reports with actionable insights to support informed decision-making by management
Valuation and Reporting
  • Collaborate with valuation teams, accounting teams, Structured Solutions local teams and central units to deliver inputs for quarterly and annual reporting under Solvency II, IFRS, and local statutory reporting frameworks for LH2 financial reinsurance
  • Identify keys areas of improvement, streamline and automate processes for valuation and reporting processes
Infrastructure Management
  • Support the design, maintenance, and enhancement (including automation) of the monitoring and reporting infrastructures
  • Support in ensuring that guidelines, standards, frameworks, tools, and templates for in force management of LH2 financial reinsurance are up-to-date and well-documented
Deal Support
  • Provide analytical and technical support for the structuring, pricing, risk analysis, approval and execution of new or modified financial reinsurance
Your Profile
  • Between 1 to 3 years of actuarial experience in direct insurance, reinsurance, or consulting
  • Fellow or good progress towards qualification with a recognised actuarial body (FSA, FIA, FIAA, or equivalent)
  • Strong technical and analytical skills, logical and concise in approach and demonstrate attention to detail
  • Highly motivated self-starter with a strong sense of team ethics
  • Proficiency in data processing and database structuring tools such as Power BI, MS excel (can perform complex functions), and SQL
  • Knowledge of Python is an advantage
