Job description

Job Position: Accounts Officer - Vessel Accounts Executive (Ship Management)

Key Responsibilities but not limited to the followings:

Accounts Payable (AP) / Accounts Receivable (AR):

  • Oversee the Accounts Payable process, ensuring timely and accurate invoice processing while resolving any complex issues that arise.
  • Prepare Year-End Accruals and Audit Schedules to facilitate smooth year-end financial reviews and audits.
  • Prepare and process corporate invoices within the system.
  • Manage the closing of prepayments in the accounting system, ensuring proper accounting treatment.
  • Execute Month-End Close activities, including bank reconciliations, posting journal entries (JVs), accruals, and other necessary adjustments.
  • Perform ad-hoc duties as assigned by the Finance Manager to support ongoing financial operations.

Vessel Accounting:

  • Assist to prepare the Monthly Vessel Owners Report, Fund Requests, and Variance Reports to provide detailed financial insights.
  • Assist vessel owners by addressing their queries and concerns in a timely manner.
  • Assist to handle vessel owners requirements and ensure challenges are met accurately.
  • Assist to calculate monthly vessel associated costs.
  • Support the implementation of new accounting software to improve financial operations.
  • Oversee vessel disbursements and manage intercompany reconciliations.
  • Prepare Quarterly GST reports for accurate tax compliance.
  • Ensure Month-End Closing procedures are completed accurately and timely.
  • Assist in the implementation of systems and initiatives to minimize manual processing and increase operational efficiency.

Requirements

  • Minimum 3 years of relevant experience in vessel accounting.
  • Preferably in Ship Management.
  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) with advanced Excel skills, including data analysis, financial modeling, and reporting.
  • Experience with vessel accounting software is a plus
  • Detailed oriented and able to work in fast paced environment with deadlines and goals
  • Good written and interpersonal communication skills
  • Committed and meticulous individual with great team bonding skills
