A leading company in the construction sector in Singapore is seeking an experienced Accountant to manage financial operations, including account management, financial reporting, and compliance with GST regulations. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring accurate financial documentation and liaising with auditors. Familiarity with Autocount Software is advantageous, as is the ability to handle complex financial processes effectively.
· Responsible for managing the full set of accounts.
· Ensure the accuracy and timely closure of accounts.
· Formulate and review existing accounting processes across the company to ensure that financial reports accurately reflect business conditions.
· Perform variance analysis on the company's financial performance.
· Prepare estimated monthly cash flow statements.
· Finalize the yearly financial report and submit it to the Director for approval and audit purposes.
· Follow up on outstanding balance sheet items.
· Liaise with external auditors and tax agents.
· Communicate with bankers regarding credit facilities and banking matters.
· Regularly check the daily auto backup status of the accounting system.
Project Number & Sales Order
· Issue project numbers and maintain budget control for customer LOA, contracts, and purchase orders received and accepted by the director.
· Obtain approval for additional budget costs.
· Create and maintain customer details in the system.
· Update customer LOA, contracts, and POs into sales orders.
· Review the sales order outstanding report and verify with project outstanding work.
Billing to Customers
· Issue delivery orders when required and ensure signed copies by customers.
· Issue and send invoices and credit notes.
· Ensure monthly billing for progressive claims and rentals.
· Send statements and liaise with customers regarding payment schedules.
· Prepare debtor aging reports with customers’ payment schedules.
Accounting
· Update the system with all receipts, including customer payments.
· Record supplier invoices after verifying quantities and unit rates.
· Verify the total monthly purchase invoices in the system against supplier statements.
· Review expenses before proceeding with payments.
· Submit the creditor aging report to the Director for payment approval.
· Prepare payment vouchers for approved expenses.
· Maintain supplier bank details in the Autocount system.
· Generate bulk payment files and upload into internet banking for director approval.
· Update monthly auto-debit transactions as per bank statements.
· Maintain journal entries and reconcile bank statements.
· Prepare WIP reports for review by the Director.
· Quarterly review of sales and purchase GST reports to ensure correct GST capture before online submission, in accordance with IRAS regulations.
· Provide all documents required by external auditors during annual audits.
· File all records and supporting documents according to Income Tax and GST Act requirements.
· Knowledge of Autocount Software is advantageous.
· Perform any other ad hoc duties as assigned.
