A leading company in the construction industry is seeking an Accountant to manage all accounting operations. You will be responsible for financial reporting, cash flow monitoring, and compliance with regulations, while also maintaining company assets. Ideal candidates will have relevant accounting qualifications and experience in a fast-paced environment, particularly within the construction sector.
JOB DESCRIPTION:
· Responsible for all accounting operations including budgeting, cash flow forecast, internal controls, monitoring and preservation of the company assets etc
· Assist the Director with implementing practices and procedures
· Update the Director of any anticipated problems so as to take proactive action
· Comply and enforce all governmental laws, policies and regulations and ensure that all company policies and procedures are adhered
· Maintain all bank accounts, reconcile monthly and submit the reconciliation reports to the Director for approval. Monitor cash flow and update the status to the Director
· Maintain and increase knowledge in the accounting software for the construction industry
· Perform audits on regular basis to verify transactions
· Track all company assets and liabilities. Maintain files on loans, vehicles and property.
· Complete period end financial statements by 14th of the following month
· Prepare accounting and financial documents for yearly audit and liaise with auditors & company secretary to provide information
· Periodically review all insurance coverages to ensure the most economical rates
· Ensure filing compliance with IRAS, CPF, MOM (FWL) etc.
· Ensure appropriate procedures for financial reporting, maintain good record keeping of files in an orderly, accurate and current manner.
· Responsible for the processing, reviewing, tracking, and general ledger posting for all projects
· Communicate with lending bodies for financial requirements of the project
· Prepare all monthly financial reports (Accounts Receivable, Accounts Payable, Project Cost, Work in Progress and General Ledger posting etc).
· Compute and invoice general contracting fees
· Process accounts receivable and understand the construction billing and collection process.
· Reconciliation of vendor statements and customer payments.
· Verify bills and purchase orders with project engineers and/or project managers
· Keep track of purchases and expenses
· Perform monthly bank reconciliation and deal with all payments & other financial dealings
· Monitor industry changes and innovations which may affect the operations or clients’ expectations
JOB SPECIFICATION:
· Degree or Diploma in Accounting or equivalent (LCCI or ACCA)
· Minimum 2 years of Accounting experience, preferably in related construction industry
· Meticulous, organized and able to work in fast paced environment to meet tight deadline
· Ability to maintain good relationships with lending bodies such as banks
· Strong knowledge of computer applications and software related to accounting (QuickBook)
· Good knowledge on banking facilities and services
