A leading company in construction seeks an Auditor to play a crucial role in client audit assignments. The position requires thorough assessments of financial controls and the communication of findings while mentoring junior staff. Candidates should possess a relevant degree and strong analytical skills to succeed in this dynamic environment.
Work with Partners in planning and liaising with clients on audit assignments.
Research clients’ operating environments and industries.
Perform walkthrough reviews, tests of controls, and variance analysis.
Coach junior team members to establish standard client communication protocols, e.g., all communication supported by emails, documenting agreed action steps, responsibilities, and deadlines.
Perform tests of internal controls to ensure effectiveness.
Conduct substantive testing of account balances to assess reasonableness.
Communicate audit findings by preparing final reports and discussing results with auditees.
Participate in client assignments from start to finish, working closely with Senior Associates and Managers.
Prepare management letters and attend sessions such as yearly stock-taking, cash counts, inventories, and fixed asset counts.
Assist in developing relationships with both business and individual clients. Vouch expenses with supporting documents.
Trace transactions with journal entries and supporting documents.
Check bank reconciliation statements and trace long uncleared cheques.
Review debtors' aging lists and trace subsequent receipts after the balance sheet date.
Conduct process evaluations of financial statements using standards such as IFRS/IAS.
Perform other duties as assigned by Partners and Managers. Contribute to team efforts by accomplishing related results.
Prepare working papers and report audit findings to the audit manager and Partner as needed.
