Job summary

A leading engineering firm in Singapore is seeking an experienced Accounts Executive to manage a full set of accounts and support financial operations. The ideal candidate will have over 5 years of accounting experience in the construction industry, a strong understanding of accounting principles, and be detail-oriented. This role involves preparing GST filings, bank reconciliations, and generating financial reports. Competitive salary up to 4.8K SGD monthly.

Job Overview

The Accounts Executive should independently manage the full set of accounts and support financial operations. The ideal candidate will be detail-oriented, organized, and familiar with construction industry accounting practices.

Job Description:

  • Manage full set of accounts, including multi-currency transactions.
  • Perform monthly bank reconciliations and intercompany reconciliations.
  • Handle month-end closing activities include revenue provision, project cost accrual & reclass stock / WIP to project cost.
  • Generate monthly financial and management reports.
  • Prepare, review, and submit quarterly GST filings.
  • Understand Sg tax regulations, able to find tax savings for the company, preparing & filing annual tax returns.
  • Submit XBRL filing
  • Submit financial information required by government agencies for surveys and BCA workhead renewals.
  • Track and manage company cash flow.
  • Update accounting schedules (e.g., fixed asset schedule, cash book).
  • Liaise with bankers and prepare documentation for bank facilities and applications.
  • Maintain records and monitor documents required for financing and audits.
  • Respond to audit queries and assist with audit-related tasks.
  • Prepare Power Point Slides for monthly Management Meeting
  • Take minutes during finance-related meetings when required.
  • Document accounting policies and SOP.
  • Liaise with Project Team on monthly and annual project budgeting.
  • Monitor company expenses related to solar energy generation, track electricity usage, and ensure accurate internal billing.
  • Prepare supporting documents for management approval.
  • Support day-to-day accounting operations and other ad hoc duties.
  • When needed, provide support for internal procedures and controls.

Requirements:

  • Minimum 5 years of full set accounting experience with companies that undergo audits, preferably in the construction industry.
  • Strong understanding of accounting principles, practices and familiarity with construction specific accounting methods
  • Proficient in Work-In-Progress (WIP) accounting practices.
  • Holds LCCI, ACCA, or a Diploma/Degree in Accounting.
  • Proficient in full MS Office Suite.
  • Experience in Dynamics 365/Globe 3 is a plus.
  • Well-organized, detail-oriented, and follows established SOPs.
  • Able to meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Self-motivated and capable of working independently.
