Job Description:

The Finance Executive plays a vital role in managing and overseeing all financial transactions and operations within the hotel. You will work closely with the management team to ensure the accurate and efficient processing of financial data, maintaining records, and providing financial insights to support decision-making. Your attention to detail, ability to manage budgets, and effective communication will contribute to the smooth financial operations of the hotel.

Key Roles & Responsibilities:

  • Oversee the processing of accounts payable or accounts receivable, ensuring timely payments and collections according to hotel policies.
  • Reconcile supplier invoices and customer payments, ensuring that all financial transactions are accurately recorded.
  • Maintain records of financial transactions and vendor relationships to ensure proper documentation and compliance.
  • Ensure proper procedures are followed for handling cash transactions and resolve any discrepancies quickly and efficiently.
  • Prepare daily cash reports and ensure all cash-related transactions are accurately recorded.
  • Work closely with various departments, such as Sales and Operations, to gather data and ensure financial records reflect accurate operational activities.
  • Ensure compliance with local tax laws, financial regulations, and hotel policies.
  • Support internal and external audits, ensuring all financial records are up-to-date and accurately documented.
  • Prepare for audits by maintaining an organized and easily accessible record of financial transactions and documents.
  • Maintain financial filing systems and ensure compliance with hotel policies on financial record-keeping.
  • Perform other administrative tasks as required by the finance department, supporting senior management in financial operations.

YOUR EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS INCLUDE:

  • Excellent verbal communication skills for clear and effective communication with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Strong attention to detail with the ability to spot discrepancies and manage multiple financial tasks simultaneously.
  • Ability to collaborate with various departments, ensuring smooth financial operations and understanding the financial needs of different teams.
  • Ability to maintain professionalism under pressure and manage confidential financial information with integrity.
  • Strong problem-solving abilities to address discrepancies and challenges in financial processes.
  • Secondary/High School education with a preference for a degree in finance, accounting, or related fields.
  • Minimum of 2-3 years of experience in a finance role, preferably within the hospitality industry, with solid knowledge of hotel financial operations.
  • Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., Opera, SunSystems, or similar systems) and advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
  • Familiarity with budgeting, forecasting, and financial reporting procedures.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks effectively.
