Job description

Job Title: Accounts Executive / Finance Assistant (Bilingual - English & Mandarin)

Location: Singapore

About the Role:
We are seeking a detail-oriented and motivated individual with an accounting background to join our finance team. This role involves core accounting functions and requires fluency in both English and Mandarin to support our business operations effectively.

Job Responsibilities:

  1. Daily Transaction Processing:
    Handle Accounts Payable (AP) and Accounts Receivable (AR) functions including invoices, payments (cheque, GIRO), progress claims, and petty cash.
    Perform bank reconciliations and maintain an accurate daily cash book.
    Ensure timely and accurate data entry into our accounting system.
  2. Month-End Closing & Reporting:
    Assist in month-end and year-end closing procedures.
    Prepare relevant month-end reports and schedules.
  3. Compliance & Support:
    Apply fundamental Singapore bookkeeping knowledge (e.g., GST handling, understanding ACRA requirements).
    Assist with financial audits and prepare necessary documentation.
    Perform other ad-hoc finance and administrative duties as required.

Job Requirements:

  1. Education:
    Bachelor degree in Accountancy, Finance, or a related field.
    A Plus: Degree from Nanyang Technological University (NTU) or the National University of Singapore (NUS) in a relevant discipline.
  2. Experience & Skills:
    Minimum of 1-2 years of relevant accounting experience.
    Solid understanding of basic accounting principles and practices.
    Essential: Practical knowledge of fundamental Singapore bookkeeping and compliance requirements.
    Proficient in using accounting software (e.g., SAP, Oracle, QuickBooks, or similar; experience with Globe3 is a plus).
    Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
  3. Language:
    Mandatory:
    Fluency in both English and Mandarin (spoken and written) is essential for effective communication with stakeholders.
  4. Other:
    Meticulous attention to detail and high level of accuracy.
    Good organizational and time management skills.
    Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
    A Significant Plus: Possession of a valid Singapore Class 3/3A driving license and a good driving record.

Remuneration:

  • A competitive salary package commensurate with experience, up to SGD 5,000 per month.
