Job summary

A leading company in financial operations is seeking a senior accounting professional to manage financial transactions and ensure compliance with standards. Qualifications

Responsibilities

  • Reconcile Balance Sheet Accounts and ensure subsidiary ledgers are accurate.
  • Prepare end-of-month journal entries and coordinate with Cost Accounting.
  • Ensure compliance with accounting standards such as DCAA, SOX, GAAP.

Skills

Knowledge of US and international accounting standards
Advanced Microsoft Excel skills
Ability to communicate effectively in English

Job description

Overview:

Under broad direction, performs a full range of duties related to processing a variety of financial transactions in support of operations with computerized accounting systems.

Responsibilities:
  1. Perform as a senior member of the team, providing assistance and coordination with other departments as needed.
  2. Reconcile all Balance Sheet Accounts, including bank reconciliation.
  3. Ensure subsidiary ledgers are reconciled with control accounts.
  4. Review accounts receivable periodically.
  5. Prepare end-of-month journal entries.
  6. Coordinate with Cost Accounting for monthly journal entries, general ledger analysis, and other tasks.
  7. Ensure compliance with accounting and audit standards such as DCAA, SOX, GAAP, and FAR.
  8. Prepare and upload advices to HQ and other programs, and upload documents to SharePoint.
  9. Maintain intercompany accounts in balance monthly.
  10. Track all journal entries on the monthly JV list.
  11. File all GL documentation.
  12. Perform other related duties as required.
Qualifications:
Education / Certifications:

One-year related experience may substitute for one year of education if a degree is required. Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Business Administration with related majors.

Experience:

Five or more years of experience in Finance or Accounting. Additional experience with cost accounting is preferred. Understanding of program operations and project controls.

Skills & Technology Used:

Knowledge of US and international accounting standards, principles, and practices. Knowledge of international audit standards is a plus. Working knowledge of management accounting fundamentals, accounting software (AS400, JAMIS), and advanced Microsoft Excel skills. Ability to communicate effectively in English, both verbally and written.

Working Environment:

Primarily office environment, with occasional outdoor work involving exposure to extreme temperatures. Use of PPE required in some situations, complying with safety regulations.
