Job summary

Faststream Recruitment Pte Ltd, on behalf of a well-established Marine & Offshore client, seeks an Accounting Manager based in Singapore. You will own the finance function, lead a small accounting team, and partner with senior management on financial reporting and process improvements.

The successful candidate will hold a Bachelor's in Accounting/Finance (ACCA/CPA/CA advantageous) with 2–3 years external audit and 2–3 years team leadership experience, plus ERP and SFRS/tax knowledge.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Accounting/Finance or related field.
• 2–3 years of external audit experience, preferably with a reputable firm.
• 2–3 years of experience leading and managing an accounting team.
• Strong experience in intercompany accounting and group consolidation.
• Proven track record in end-to-end financial close processes.
• Hands-on experience with ERP systems, particularly accounting modules.
• Sound knowledge of SFRS, taxation, and statutory compliance.

Responsibilities

• Oversee AP, AR, GL, fixed assets, and bank reconciliations.
• Manage month-, quarter-, and year-end closing processes for timely reporting.
• Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements and management reports.
• Manage cash flow, budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning activities.
• Ensure compliance with accounting standards, statutory requirements, and tax regulations.
• Liaise with external auditors, tax agents, banks, and regulators.
• Review and improve accounting policies, internal controls, and finance processes.
• Monitor financial performance, analyse variances, and recommend improvements.
• Lead, mentor, and develop the accounting team.
• Support senior management with financial analysis, reporting, and ad hoc projects.

We are partnering with a well-established player in the Marine & Offshore industry on a confidential search for an Accounting Manager based in Singapore.

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced accounting professional to take ownership of the finance function, lead a small accounting team, and work closely with senior management to drive financial reporting, process improvements, and business performance.

Key Responsibilities:

• Oversee the full spectrum of accounting functions, including Accounts Payable (AP), Accounts Receivable (AR), General Ledger (GL), fixed assets, and bank reconciliations.
• Manage the month-end, quarter-end, and year-end closing processes, ensuring timely and accurate financial reporting.
• Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements, management reports, and supporting schedules.
• Manage cash flow, budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning activities.
• Ensure compliance with accounting standards, statutory requirements, and tax regulations.
• Liaise with external auditors, tax agents, banks, and relevant regulatory authorities.
• Review and enhance accounting policies, internal controls, and finance processes to improve operational efficiency.
• Monitor financial performance, analyse variances, and provide recommendations to improve profitability and cost efficiency.
• Lead, mentor, and develop the accounting team, ensuring effective day-to-day operations.
• Support senior management with financial analysis, reporting, and other ad hoc projects.

The successful candidate should have:

• Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline. Professional qualifications such as ACCA, CPA, or CA will be advantageous.
• 2-3 years of external audit experience, preferably gained with a reputable audit firm.
• 2-3 years of experience leading and managing an accounting team, with the ability to independently oversee the full finance function.
• Strong experience in intercompany accounting and group consolidation.
• Proven track record in managing and improving end-to-end financial closing processes.
• Hands-on experience with ERP systems, particularly accounting modules.
• Sound knowledge of Singapore Financial Reporting Standards (SFRS), taxation, and statutory compliance.
• Strong analytical, organisational, and problem-solving skills with excellent attention to detail.
• Ability to work independently while effectively collaborating with stakeholders across the business.
