Job description

Job Summary

My client is looking for a Temp Accounting to support Management Tower Support team. Reporting to the Tower Supervisor, you will play a critical role in ensuring the accuracy of monthly balance sheet reconciliations and journals for multiple legal entities. You will also contribute to the successful rollout of the Financial Ecosystem System (FCE), including Oracle Cloud and Chart of Accounts changes.

Key Responsibilities

  • FCE Support: Assist the Tower Supervisor with FCE readiness activities, such as user acceptance testing, beta testing, and validation of work in collaboration with the Accenture India team.
  • Month-End Activities: Perform account reviews, including control account checks and correcting journal entries.
  • Progress Monitoring: Track close progress and update the BPO Journal Entry Dashboard, ensuring timely task completion for assigned entities.
  • Overdue Item Management: Review the Overdue Items Report, follow up with BPO, and escalate unresolved items where needed.
  • Finance Activity Reviews: Conduct pre- and post-close calls with tower leads to review monthly and quarterly financial activities.
  • Reconciliation and Research: Support journal entries, reconciliations, and resolution of aging accounts through Blackline reports. Develop action plans for R-items over 60 days and exceeding $100,000.
  • Reporting and Analysis: Prepare Tower Close Packages, including variance analysis with commentary, risk and issues logs, and balance sheet aging reports.
  • Performance Monitoring: Oversee BPO performance against SLAs, escalating discrepancies and overseeing Corrective Action Plans (CAP).
  • Liaison Role: Act as a bridge between UPS stakeholders and BPO to address information requests and queries.
  • Process Improvements: Identify risks across tower processes and implement solutions to enhance efficiency and reduce transaction volume.
  • Compliance: Ensure BPO adheres to ACR record retention policies and update documentation (DLP/SOP) as responsibilities evolve.

Requirements

  • Qualifications: Minimum Diploma or Bachelor’s degree in Accounting.
  • Experience: At least 3 years of relevant experience in accounting, internal audit, or public accounting across any industry.
  • Technical Knowledge: Strong understanding of accounting theory and principles is essential.
  • Skills: Exceptional attention to detail and analytical/problem-solving abilities.
    Strong written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills to effectively collaborate with stakeholders and remote teams.
    Proactive and independent team player with a track record of thriving in dynamic environments.
    Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel.
