Job summary

Singapore Airlines is seeking a detail-oriented accounting professional to join the Overseas Accounting team in the Finance Division. The role handles AR for SIN Sales Passenger functions, reconciliations, chargebacks, and GL activities including month-end closing.

Qualifications include a Diploma in Accountancy and proficiency in MS Excel/Word. SAP knowledge is a plus and the candidate should work well independently and in a team within a high-pressure environment.

Responsibilities

• Responsible for accounts receivable activities for SIN Sales Passenger functions
• Perform reconciliation between sales, billings and settlement to ensure discrepancies are accounted for
• Follow up with SIN business units on credit card chargebacks and respond to acquirers timely
• Investigating and resolving any irregularities or enquiries
• Accountable for general ledger activities for SIN Sales, including journal entries and accruals
• Perform monthly/quarterly checklists for suspense accounts, AR, cash/bank
• Perform closing activities and variance analysis between actuals vs budget
• Work with IT on system enhancements testing
• Any other duties assigned by Senior Manager Overseas Accounting

The successful candidate will join the Overseas Accounting department in SIA Finance Division.

Key Responsibilities

• Responsible for accounts receivable activities for SIN Sales Passenger functions, such as:
• Perform reconciliation between sales, billings and settlement to ensure that discrepancies are duly accounted for the different payment methods
• Follow up with SIN business units on credit card chargebacks received and respond to acquirers timely
• Investigating and resolving any irregularities or enquiries
• Accountable for general ledger activities for SIN Sales, including the recording and review of journal entries, accruals submitted by business units, monitoring and clearance of various suspense accounts, etc.
• Perform monthly/quarterly checklists for suspense accounts, account receivable, cash/bank, etc.
• Perform monthly, quarterly, annual closing activities and variance analysis review between actuals vs budget
• Work with IT team on system enhancements testing, where applicable.
• Any other duties assigned by Senior Manager Overseas Accounting.

Requirements

• Possess a Diploma in Accountancy or similar
• Meticulous, self-driven and able to work independently as well as in a team
• Able to work under pressure and perform under tight datelines
• Proficient with Microsoft Office – Excel & Word and IT savy; and
• Knowledge of SAP will be an added advantage
