Job summary

Singapore Airlines Limited is seeking an Accounting/Finance Associate (Overseas Accounting) to join the Overseas Accounting section of the Finance Division. The role involves AR for SIN Sales Passenger functions, GL posting, month-end closings, and collaboration with IT for system enhancements.

The successful candidate will work independently or as part of a team, under tight deadlines, and bring a Diploma in Accountancy along with SAP knowledge as an added advantage.

Qualifications

• Diploma in Accountancy or similar required.
• Must be meticulous, self-driven and able to work independently or in a team.
• Able to work under pressure with tight deadlines.
• Proficient in Microsoft Excel and Word; IT savy.
• Knowledge of SAP is advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Handle accounts receivable activities for SIN Sales Passenger functions.
• Reconcile sales, billings and settlements; address discrepancies across payment methods.
• Maintain general ledger for SIN Sales; review journal entries and accruals.
• Run monthly/quarterly checklists for suspense accounts, AR, cash/bank.
• Support monthly, quarterly and yearly closing activities and variance analysis.

Job Description

The successful candidate will join the Overseas Accounting department in SIA Finance Division.

Key Responsibilities

1. Responsible for accounts receivable activities for SIN Sales Passenger functions, such as:
   1. Perform reconciliation between sales, billings and settlement to ensure that discrepancies are duly accounted for the different payment methods
   2. Follow up with SIN business units on credit card chargebacks received and respond to acquirers timely
   3. Investigating and resolving any irregularities or enquiries
2. Accountable for general ledger activities for SIN Sales, including the recording and review of journal entries, accruals submitted by business units, monitoring and clearance of various suspense accounts, etc.
3. Perform monthly/quarterly checklists for suspense accounts, account receivable, cash/bank, etc.
4. Perform monthly, quarterly, annual closing activities and variance analysis review between actuals vs budget
5. Work with IT team on system enhancements testing, where applicable.
6. Any other duties assigned by Senior Manager Overseas Accounting.

Requirements

• Possess a Diploma in Accountancy or similar
• Meticulous, self-driven and able to work independently as well as in a team
• Able to work under pressure and perform under tight datelines
• Proficient with Microsoft Office - Excel & Word and IT savy; and
• Knowledge of SAP will be an added advantage
