Job description

Our client, a well-known company, is looking for candidates for the position of Accountant.

RESPONSIBILITIES
  1. Maintain full sets of accounts including AP, AR, and GL.
  2. Record and reconcile vessel-related transactions in accordance with company accounting policies.
  3. Monitor and follow up on outstanding receivables from charterers.
  4. Perform month-end closing activities, including journals, accruals, and reconciliations.
  5. Prepare vessel-specific Profit & Loss statements and supporting schedules.
  6. Maintain vessel fixed assets register and calculate depreciation.
  7. Track vessel capital expenditure and dry-docking costs.
  8. Work closely with internal departments such as Operations, Technical, and Commercial teams for financial matters.
  9. Compute IFRS 16 Lease schedule.
  10. Prepare drawdown requests, loan servicing documents, and liaise with banks on loan-related matters.
  11. Maintain accurate records of vessel loan facilities, including principal and interest schedules.
  12. Prepare quarterly and year-end schedules and consolidation packages for head office.
  13. Prepare annual budget and forecast.
  14. Liaise with the accounting system vendor for troubleshooting or system upgrades.
  15. Perform special duties as required.
REQUIREMENTS
  1. Bachelor's Degree, preferably with Chartered Accountant (CA) and Certified Public Accountant (CPA) qualifications.
  2. Minimum 5 years of relevant experience in a related field.
  3. Proficient in Microsoft Office.
  4. Soft skills including communication, positive attitude, teamwork, problem-solving, meticulousness, and attention to detail.
