Job Description

We are seeking a dynamic and hands-on Accountant to support financial and operational functions for a portfolio of entities. This role is ideal for someone with strong accounting, reporting, and system implementation experience. You will work closely with internal stakeholders and external auditors, and be responsible for end-to-end accounting processes, statutory compliance, and financial reporting.

Key Responsibilities

  • Set up new entities and accounting systems as required.
  • Manage the full spectrum of accounting functions, including budgeting, tax, analysis, reporting, banking, and administrative matters.
  • Prepare and review monthly management reports and statutory financial statements, including variance analysis.
  • Review payments, GST reports/returns, tax computations, audit schedules, and annual budgets.
  • Oversee accounts receivables, doubtful debt provisions, and monitor credit risk.
  • Liaise with operations, suppliers, banks, auditors, tax agents, and internal teams.
  • Coordinate and support internal and external audits.
  • Analyse and improve finance systems and processes to enhance internal control and compliance.
  • Prepare cash flow forecasts, provide treasury support, and support decision-making for management.
  • Supervise a small team including Assistant Accountants, Accounts Executives, and Assistants.
  • Provide coaching and resolve issues in a timely and professional manner.
  • Undertake ad-hoc reporting or finance-related tasks as required.

Requirements

  • Degree in Accounting, ACCA, CA, CIMA, or equivalent.
  • Minimum 3 years of relevant accounting/auditing experience; supervisory or internal control experience is a plus.
  • Able to manage full sets of accounts and internal controls independently.
  • Hands-on experience in both accounting operations and reporting.
  • Able to perform internal audit/review independently.
  • Familiar with MS Excel and Word; comfortable working in a fast-paced environment.
  • Experience with accounting system implementation (e.g. Navision) is preferred.
  • Strong in internal control review and process enhancement.
  • Exposure to bank loan financing or related reporting is an advantage.
  • Prior experience in setting up new entities or managing new projects from scratch is a bonus.
  • Strong ability and comfortable managing a broad and dynamic work scope
  • Strong attention to detail, high accountability, and ability to work under pressure.
  • Willingness to travel overseas if required.
