Job description

We are seeking a committed and experienced Accountant to join our dynamic hospitality group. The successful candidate will be a key member of the Finance Team, reporting directly to the Group Financial Controller and overseeing the financial operations of multiple entities and outlets.

This role will support the Group Financial Controller in ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and compliance across all financial reporting. The position will also supervise a small in-house team and manage communications with external stakeholders such as auditors, bankers, outsourced accountants, and vendors.

Key Responsibilities

Financial Reporting & Oversight

  • Prepare full set of accounts for assigned entities and selected holding or investment entities
  • Managing accounts payable and accounts receivable
  • Monitoring cash flow and managing financial resources
  • Perform intercompany and bank reconciliations, and ensure timely closing
  • Prepare and review month-end journals (payroll, prepayments, accruals, etc.)
  • Prepare quarterly GST submissions and ensure compliance for assigned entities
  • Review monthly financial reports from outsourced accounting firms

Stakeholder Liaison

  • Coordinate with external auditors, tax agents, bankers, company secretary, and outsourced accountants
  • Maintain proper documentation for compliance and audit readiness
  • Assist in funding applications and drawdown procedures when needed

Team Supervision & Support

  • Supervise and support junior team members handling payments, claims, collections, and reconciliations
  • Maintain internal controls and help develop SOPs for finance operations
  • Ensure accurate revenue reconciliation (POS, accounting software, and bank)

Strategic Support

  • Provide financial insights to support decision-making
  • Participate in system/process improvements
  • Serve as the key deputy to the Group Financial Controller

Requirements

  • Professional accounting qualification (e.g. CA, ACCA, CPA, CIMA) and/or Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or Business
  • Minimum 3 years in a similar supervisory role, or 5 years of relevant accounting experience
  • Candidates with at least 7 years of accounting experience who are hands-on in full set accounting and have relevant industry exposure (e.g. hospitality, F&B, or retail) are strongly encouraged to apply
  • Proficient in full set of accounts and multi-entity reporting
  • Experience in hospitality, F&B, or retail sector preferred
  • Strong analytical, interpersonal, and communication skills
  • Proficient in accounting systems (Xero) and MS Excel
