Accountant – AR/AP/GL (Retail Industry)

We are seeking a detail-oriented and versatile Accountant to join a dynamic finance team supporting regional operations. The Role

As an Accountant with a strong focus on AR, AP, and General Ledger (GL) processes, you will be responsible for ensuring the integrity and accuracy of financial transactions across multiple workstreams. You will manage the full spectrum of accounts receivable, accounts payable, and general accounting operations while providing sound financial advice to internal stakeholders and supporting process improvement initiatives.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage end-to-end Accounts Receivable (AR) and Accounts Payable (AP) processes, including billing, collections, payments, and reconciliations
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date customer and vendor accounts
  • Handle GL accounting tasks, including journal entries, accruals, and account reconciliations
  • Partner with internal stakeholders (sales, operations, and finance teams) to resolve operational and billing issues
  • Monitor and review credit limits, customer creditworthiness, and ensure timely collections
  • Prepare and analyze AR aging reports, AP aging summaries, and cash flow forecasts
  • Support month-end and year-end close activities and assist in statutory audits
  • Identify opportunities for process enhancements and contribute to finance transformation initiatives
  • Ensure compliance with internal controls, accounting standards, and external regulatory requirements

Who You Are

  • Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field AND/OR ACCA qualification (completed or in-progress)
  • Minimum of 3–6 years of relevant and recent experience in accounting roles, covering AR, AP, and GL
  • Experience in the retail, FMCG, or consumer goods industries is preferred
  • Proficient in ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle) and advanced in Microsoft Excel
  • Strong analytical skills with high attention to detail and accuracy
  • Proactive team player with strong communication and problem-solving skills
  • Able to prioritize tasks and adapt in a dynamic, multicultural, and hybrid work environment
