Job summary

A local company in Singapore is seeking an Accounting Assistant to support the Head of Finance in maintaining accurate records, preparing regulatory filings, and assisting in financial operations. The ideal candidate will have a tertiary qualification in accounting and strong skills in Excel. Experience in audit or accounting is preferred. Job description

ROLE PURPOSE:

  • Assist Head of Finance (HOF) to maintain accurate and complete accounting records for assigned entities, to maintain fixed assets listing, and to close the accounts on time

  • Assist HOF to prepare and file regulatory returns for assigned entities in a timely and accurate manner

  • Assists HOF to prepare audit schedules and assists in other audit related matters, as required

  • Assists HOF in Finance projects as assigned and in Finance operations matter like maintaining cashbook and processing payments

  • Undertake any other finance duties as may be assigned

KEY OUTPUT OF THE ROLE:

  • Updates accounting records in relevant system or platform

  • Regulatory filings

  • Prepare payment vouchers, updates the cashbooks and perform bank reconciliations

RELATIONSHIPS OF THE ROLE:

  • Finance Manager

  • Consultants and Audit staff

KEY PERFORMANCE INDICATORS OF THE ROLE:

  • Timely and accurately complete the closing of the books matters and regulatory filings

QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED FOR THE ROLE:

  • Tertiary education in accounting (i.e. Degree, Diploma and ACCA or ACCA undergraduate)

SKILLS/KNOWLEGDE REQUIRED FOR THE ROLE:

  • Good written and verbal communication skills

  • Good knowledge of accounting

  • Good Excel skills

EXPERIENCE PREFERRED FOR THE ROLE:

  • Preferably 1-2 years of relevant experience (i.e. audit or accounting

  • Preferably familiar with SME setup

COMPETENCIES REQUIRED FOR THE ROLE:

  • Tasks focus and delivering results

  • Ability to work independently with minimal guidance from superiors

  • Meticulous and the quest to learn and to knowledge-share with teammates
