Position Overview

The Accountant plays a pivotal role in ensuring financial integrity across our regional branches. This includes managing internal audit controls, preparing financial reports, supporting operational teams, and ensuring compliance with statutory and company policies.

Key Responsibilities

Financial Control & Reporting:

  • Perform monthly reconciliations and balance sheet reviews.
  • Finalise month-end actual results and flash reports.
  • Prepare and issue customer invoices and credit notes.
  • Manage petty cash reloading and reconciliations.
  • Review and process payroll journals and confirmations.
  • Prepare GST reconciliations and statutory returns.
  • Assist in preparing audit packs and year-end financials.

Operational Support:

  • Support Financial Managers and branch-level finance staff.
  • Attend stock takes and branch visits for financial oversight.
  • Assist with internal audit functions and workshops.
  • Provide ad hoc support to branches and GM queries.

Monthly Planning:

You will manage the monthly financial cycle, including flash reporting, base balancing, internal revenue reviews, cashbook and creditor checks, GST submissions, payroll reviews, journal entries, and reconciliations.

Who We Are Looking For (Qualifications & Experience)

Education:

  • Diploma or equivalent is essential.
  • Tertiary qualification in Accounting or Finance (Degree preferred).
  • Bookkeeping or credit management certification is advantageous.

Experience:

  • Minimum 3–5 years in a full-function accounting role.
  • Proven experience with GL reconciliations, audit preparation, and financial reporting.
  • Familiarity with ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Syspro, Great Plains).

Skills:

  • Strong knowledge of SFRS/IFRS and the Singapore Companies Act.
  • Advanced Excel skills (pivot tables, lookups, formulas) are essential.
  • Excellent communication and analytical skills.
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.

Compliance & Legal:

  • Must comply with all internal company policies and ISO standards.
  • A valid driver’s licence is required for branch visits.
Reporting Structure
  • Reports to: Finance Manager / Country Manager
  • Supports: Bookkeepers, Creditors Clerks, Cashbook Clerks.
  • Collaborates with: Financial Executives, Regional Managers, and Head Office teams.
