Job description

Maxim's Group in Singapore operates several food and beverage brands, including Starbucks and Genki Sushi, since its partnership began.

This position plays a key role in contributing to the success of Maxim's Group in Singapore by ensuring the accurate and timely completion of financial accounting and business partnering for multiple business units. The role involves managing one or more accounting, tax, or reporting systems and assisting business unit or department managers in interpreting financial reports. Additionally, it includes providing support to various departments, ensuring that strategic decisions are financially sound and aligned with overall business objectives.

Responsibilities and Essential Job Functions:

  • Maintain various accounting systems and processes. Contribute ideas and innovations to improve existing systems, work processes, and procedures affecting month-end financial close, account analysis, and financial reporting.
  • Manage general accounting process including Accounts Receivables, Sales, Inventory, and Accounts Payable, ensuring completeness, accuracy, and timeliness of all transactions and collections. Collaborate with shared-service teams to process transactions, balance sheet schedules, and reconciliations using ERP and in-house systems.
  • Manage relationships with external Shared Service teams, with external and internal auditors for year-end and sales audits, and external vendors.
  • Provide financial insights and subject matter expertise to all teams.
  • Build and maintain strong collaborative relationships with stakeholders across the business units and cross functional teams.
  • Act as a business partner with cross-functional teams and vendors on projects to ensure financial accounting and reporting frameworks are in place.
  • Support other ad-hoc duties as assigned.
  • Compliance & Governance: Ensure financial practices adhere to internal policies and external regulations.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Minimum Degree or Chartered Accountancy.
  • More than 4 years of relevant work experience, preferably in the F&B industry.
  • Advanced skills in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Microsoft tools
  • Familiarity with accounting systems (preferably Microsoft Dynamics) and processes.
  • Ability to develop and implement process improvements.
  • Capable of training and guiding others when necessary.
  • Interest in learning basic data analytics and business partnering.
  • Strong communication skills across all levels of personnel.
  • Team player with the ability to work independently.
  • Meticulous, responsible, proactive, patient, and resourceful.
  • Highly organized and capable of managing multiple priorities effectively.
  • Creative thinker who can adapt to rapidly changing situations.
