Job description

SUMMARY:

As the Accountant for the company, you are responsible for assisting with delivering accurate financial reports and insights that support business planning and decision-making. This role places a strong emphasis in being a team player in completing tasks such as financial analysis, budgeting, and system improvements. The successful candidate will also support digital transformation initiatives, including financial system migration, and serve as a key finance partner to internal stakeholders.

PRINCIPAL RESPONSIBILITIES AND AUTHORITIES:

  • Participate in managing and ensuring the timely reconciliation of general ledger accounts and accurate financial close.
  • Assist in preparing and analysing monthly, quarterly, and annual financial and management reports.
  • Assist in inventory management. Conduct inventory reconciliations, investigation of discrepancies and participate in annual stock counts.
  • Perform variance analysis and provide commentary on key financial trends and indicators.
  • Support any budgeting and periodic forecasting processes across departments.
  • Assist in the development and maintenance of financial KPIs and dashboards.
  • Assist in financial system migration projects, including data validation, user testing, and training.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally on improving finance-related workflows and automation
  • Liaising with stakeholders including communicating with internal teams, auditors and other relevant parties.
  • To undertake any Ad-Hoc activities at the request of your Line Manager.

SKILLS, EXPERIENCE, CONDITIONS SPECIFICATION:

  • Degree in Accounting, Finance, or related discipline
  • Minimum 3–5 years of experience in accounting and finance, including financial reporting and budgeting
  • Proven experience in financial system migration or system implementation
  • Proficient in financial systems such as OpenAccounts, Workday, and Microsoft Excel (e.g. pivot tables, formulas, charts)
  • Strong understanding of GAAP/IFRS, financial controls, and audit requirements
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills
  • Able to work independently with a high level of accuracy and attention to detail
  • Experience collaborating with IT or system vendors on finance system enhancements
  • Professional certification (e.g. CPA, ACCA) is an advantage
