Job description

1. Financial Reporting & General Ledger
  • Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in accordance with Singapore Financial Reporting Standards (SFRS).
  • Manage general ledger entries, ensure accuracy and completeness of financial records.
  • Perform month-end and year-end closings, including accruals and adjustments.
2. Payroll Processing & Compliance
  • Process monthly payroll in compliance with MOM regulations and company policies.
  • Ensure timely and accurate salary payments, including overtime, bonuses, and allowances.
  • Calculate and submit statutory contributions:
    CPF, SDL, SHG, and other government-mandated deductions.
  • Maintain accurate payroll records and employee compensation data.
  • Handle IR8A and related income records (optional if not handling tax submission, but often done jointly with HR).
  • HR Coordination: Liaise with HR on staff changes affecting payroll (e.g., new hires, resignations, unpaid leave).
  • Grant Claims / Funding Reconciliations: For companies applying for salary-related subsidies or government schemes.
3. Budgeting, Forecasting & Cost Monitoring
  • Assist in preparation of budgets, forecasts, and financial projections.
  • Track and report on budget variances, highlight cost-saving opportunities.
  • Support cash flow planning and monitor day-to-day cash requirements.
4. Accounts Payable (AP) & Accounts Receivable (AR)
  • Manage the AP process: verify and process supplier invoices, prepare payment runs.
  • Oversee the AR process: issue customer invoices, perform credit control, and reconcile receipts.
  • Maintain aging reports and follow up on outstanding balances.
5. Bank & Account Reconciliation
  • Perform bank reconciliations regularly to ensure alignment of records.
  • Reconcile key balance sheet accounts (e.g., payroll payable, CPF payable, accrued expenses).
6. Fixed Assets & Inventory
  • Maintain and update fixed asset register, handle asset tagging and depreciation.
  • Ensure correct capitalization of assets and adherence to accounting policies.
  • Assist in inventory accounting, if applicable.
7. Audit & Internal Controls
  • Support external and internal audit processes by preparing necessary schedules and documentation.
  • Ensure compliance with financial controls and regulatory requirements.
  • Review and enhance internal controls related to payroll, accounting, and finance processes.
8. System & Process Improvements
  • Assist with accounting system upgrades or migrations.
  • Recommend and implement process improvements to streamline workflow and reduce errors.
