Accountant

Job Summary

An accountant manages financial records in the JADE system, ensuring accurate registration of invoices, taxes, and payments. This role involves adhering to accounting procedures, preparing documentation for audits, maintaining data integrity and confidentiality. The ideal candidate will demonstrate strong organizational skills and attention to detail while contributing to a positive company image.

Main Duties and Responsibilities

1. Register in JADE all invoices, taxes, and payments using the proper modules.
2. Follow general accounting and subsidiary accounting bookkeeping procedures.
3. Prepare and maintain all required files at every stage of the processing of invoices (pending, unpaid, partially or fully paid, completed).
4. Organize and maintain the appropriate filing (hardcopy / softcopy) of all accounting closure printouts: balances, ledgers, journals, etc.
5. Prepare records for external auditors and trace documents required to answer queries.
6. Ensure the implementation of accounting procedures and tools in adherence to legal and COLAS RAIL Group accounting standards.
7. Guarantee the quality of the Accounts Department’s files to satisfy auditors’ controls.
8. Ensure data integrity under JADE and with other IT systems.
9. Maintain strict confidentiality of documents (internally and externally).
10. Contribute to the company's positive public image through professional attitude and behavior with third parties and within the work environment.
11. Assist with annual audit preparations.
12. Investigate and resolve audit findings, account discrepancies, and issues of non-compliance.
13. Contribute to the development of new or amended accounting systems, programs, and procedures.
14. Perform other accounting duties and support junior staff as required or assigned.

Desired Skills and Qualifications

1. Bachelor’s degree in accounting/finance. CPA or CMA is a plus.
2. Minimum 3 years’ experience, preferably in the construction sector.
3. Gender: Female Only.
4. Excellent knowledge of accounting regulations and procedures.
5. Advanced MS Excel skills.
6. Experience with general ledger functions.
7. Strong attention to detail and good analytical skills.
