Job summary

A leading shipping management firm in Singapore is looking for an experienced Accountant to handle full accounting operations, including monthly vessel expenditure reporting and compliance with corporate standards. Candidates should have at least 2 years of accounting experience, preferably within the shipping industry, and be proficient in Microsoft Excel. The role offers a competitive salary range of $4,500 – $5,000.

Qualifications

  • At least 2 years of hands-on experience in full sets of accounts.
  • Prior experience in the shipping or maritime industry is a strong advantage.
  • Able to start work immediately or on short notice is preferred.

Job description

Job Title: Accountant

Work Location: Next to Tai Seng MRT Station

Working Hours: Monday to Friday, Office Hours 9am-6pm

Industry: Shipping / Ship Management

Salary Range: $4,500 – $5,000 (commensurate with experience)

Responsibilities:

Plan, prepare, and submit monthly vessel expenditure reports in line with vessel owners’ requirements and within stipulated timelines.

Monitor vessel working funds and ensure timely collection of receivables.

Handle full spectrum of day-to-day accounting operations including General Ledger (GL), Accounts Receivable (AR), Accounts Payable (AP), intercompany balances/transactions, and cash flow management.

Prepare and submit accurate financial and management reports in a timely manner.

Ensure compliance with corporate accounting standards and stay updated on relevant financial regulations and statutory requirements.

Support audits and tax submissions as required.

Perform any other ad hoc tasks or assignments as assigned by management.

Requirements:

  • Diploma or Degree in Accounting or equivalent professional qualification.
  • At least 2 years of hands-on experience in full sets of accounts or relevant accounting functions.
  • Prior experience in the shipping or maritime industry is a strong advantage.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel and accounting software.
  • Strong attention to detail, analytical skills, and a proactive attitude.
  • Good interpersonal and communication skills
  • Able to start work immediately or on short notice is preferred.
