Job description

General Ledger (GL) Accounting

  • Oversee monthly, quarterly, year-end closing process, ensuring accuracy and timeliness in accordance with statutory and group reporting.
  • Prepare and review journal entries, accruals, and balance sheet reconciliations.
  • Communicate any control weakness identify during day-to-day operations Implement and enhancement of accounting and working procedure for internal audits and SOX compliance.
  • Support internal and external audit request.
  • Other ad-hoc tasks or projects that may be assigned.

Treasury Operations

  • Manage daily cash flow activities, including journal entries, bank reconciliations and cash forecasting.
  • Coordinate with banks for fund transfers and banking documentation.
  • Assess the forex balance sheet exposure.
  • Evaluate the effectiveness of hedging strategies, manage the hedging portfolio, monitor the exchange rates.
  • Analyse monthly, quarterly and annual transactions data against forecast.
  • Assist in maintaining banking relationships and treasury policies.

Payroll Accounting

  • Collaborate with HR and payroll providers to ensure accurate and timely payroll accounting.
  • Prepare and review journal entries, accruals, and download payroll data from payroll system.
  • Verify cheque requests and process cheque issuance.
  • Process and verify employee claims for all claim types via SAP Concur.
  • Reconcile payroll-related accounts including salaries, bonuses, benefits, and taxes and provide analysis.
  • Ensure compliance with statutory payroll requirements and internal controls.

Corporate Tax Compliance

  • Maintain tax schedules and assist in the preparation and filing of corporate income tax and other statutory filings.
  • Liaise with external tax advisors and auditors during reviews or audits.
  • Stay updated with changes in tax laws and regulations relevant to the business.

Required Experience and Qualifications (Required knowledge, skills and experience---however acquired):

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration or a related field.
  • Minimum 1-3 years of experience in accounting roles, including GL, treasury, payroll, and tax.
  • Strong knowledge of accounting standards (GAAP/SFRS) and local tax regulations.
  • Proficient in SAP systems.
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills; experience with reporting tools is a plus.
  • High attention to detail and the ability to meet strict deadlines.
  • Strong analytical, organisational, problem-solving skills along with strong interpersonal and communication skills
