Job description

The Accountant will be responsible for managing financial records, ensuring compliance with local regulations, and supporting strategic decision-making through accurate reporting and analysis. This role requires strong analytical skills, a thorough understanding of accounting principles, and the ability to collaborate across departments.

Responsibilities
  1. Prepare and maintain accurate financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements, in accordance with reporting standards and company policies.
  2. Perform month-end and year-end closing activities, including account reconciliations and journal entries.
  3. Manage accounts payable, receivable processes, travelling & employee expenses claims, ensuring timely payments and collections.
  4. Assist with monthly accrual for employee claims & freight costs.
  5. Assist in budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis to support business planning and performance evaluation.
  6. Ensure compliance with local tax regulations, including GST filings, corporate tax submissions, and liaising with external auditors or tax authorities as needed.
  7. Monitor and analyze financial data to identify trends, discrepancies, or opportunities for cost optimization.
  8. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to provide financial insights and support operational initiatives.
  9. Maintain proper documentation and internal controls to safeguard company assets and ensure audit readiness.
  10. Contribute to process improvements and the implementation of financial systems or tools as required.
Requirements/Skills/Qualifications
  1. Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
  2. Minimum of 2-5 years of accounting experience, preferably in Big 4, multinational corporation or manufacturing industry.
  3. Professional certification (e.g., CPA, ACCA, or equivalent) is preferred.
  4. Strong knowledge of Singapore accounting standards, tax laws, and regulatory requirements.
  5. Proficiency in accounting software and advanced MS Excel skills.
  6. Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities with a keen attention to detail.
  7. Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  8. Strong communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate effectively with internal and external stakeholders.
