Job description

Financial Accountant

We are seeking a qualified Financial Accountant to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for:

  1. Financial Reporting: Ensuring timely and accurate month-end, quarterly, and annual financial statements, including profit and loss accounts, balance sheets, and regulatory reports.
  2. Financial Management Operations: Monitoring cash flows, managing accounting processes (AP & AR, GL, reconciliations), and supporting forecasting and budgeting exercises.
  3. Coordination and Compliance: Liaising with internal teams and external parties such as auditors, tax agents, and government authorities to ensure compliance with tax filings (GST, WHT, CIT) and audit requirements.
  4. System and Process Improvement: Assisting in the implementation of new processes and systems as needed.
  5. Audit and Reconciliation: Preparing audit schedules, validating collections and bank reconciliations, and supporting statutory reporting and tax compliance including year-end audits and corporate income tax.
  6. Additional Responsibilities: Preparing various statutory reports, tax filings, and declaration statements as required.

Requirements:

  • Professional Accountancy Qualification or Bachelor's degree in Accountancy.
  • Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience, preferably in the retail industry, at a senior executive level.
  • Proficiency in MS Office applications, especially Excel, PowerPoint, and Word.
  • Self-motivated, well-organized, and able to work independently to meet deadlines.
  • Positive attitude, driven, and passionate about work.
