Job summary

JAC Recruitment partners with a leading energy and infrastructure organization in Singapore, recruiting a Junior Accountant for a critical finance role.

The position covers month-end close, journal entries, reconciliations, statutory audits, tax support, and management reporting, with SAP S/4HANA involvement.

Qualifications

• Diploma or Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field (minimum).
• 7+ years of relevant accounting experience with strong GL and AR exposure.
• Experience in AP and Fixed Assets is a plus.
• Hands-on experience with SAP S/4HANA is required; SAP Concur is a plus.
• High proficiency in Excel and ERP systems; strong accounting knowledge.

Responsibilities

• Manage month-end and year-end closing activities with timely, accurate financial reporting.
• Prepare and post journal entries including accruals, prepayments, leases, reclassifications and provisions.
• Conduct balance sheet reconciliations and clear reconciling items promptly.
• Prepare schedules for statutory audits, tax compliance and management reporting.
• Maintain GL records and ensure compliance with policies and standards.
• Handle intercompany transactions including service fee calculations, invoicing and settlements.
• Manage AR activities: billing, cash application, reconciliations and collections support.
• Maintain fixed asset register including capitalization, transfers and depreciation.
• Assist in monthly/quarterly/annual financial reporting and analyses.
• Participate in SAP S/4HANA enhancements, UAT, and system improvements.
• Act as backup Finance Key User and coordinate with external support teams.

Job Title: Junior Accountant

Location: Singapore - Central

New Role

• Manage month-end and year-end closing activities, ensuring timely and accurate financial reporting.
• Prepare and post journal entries, including accruals, prepayments, lease accounting, reclassifications, and provision adjustments.
• Perform balance sheet reconciliations and resolve outstanding reconciling items on a timely basis.
• Prepare financial schedules and supporting documentation for statutory audits, tax compliance, and management reporting.
• Maintain accurate general ledger records and ensure compliance with accounting standards and internal policies.
• Handle intercompany transactions, including service fee calculations, invoicing, reconciliations, and settlement activities.
• Manage the accounts' receivable function, including billing, cash application, account reconciliations, and collection support.
• Maintain the fixed asset register, overseeing asset capitalization, transfers, disposals, and depreciation activities.
• Support monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reporting requirements and analysis.
• Participate in SAP S/4HANA enhancement projects, user acceptance testing (UAT), and system improvement initiatives.
• Act as a backup Finance Key User, providing first‑level system support and coordinating with external support teams on finance‑related issues.
• Drive process improvements, support internal control reviews, audits, corporate tax activities, and other ad hoc projects as assigned by management.

Key Qualifications For Success

• Diploma or Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• Minimum 7 years of relevant accounting experience, with strong exposure to General Ledger and Accounts Receivable functions.
• Prior experience in Accounts Payable and Fixed Assets accounting will be viewed favorably.
• Experience managing a full set of accounts, preferably within a small or lean finance environment.
• Hands‑on experience with SAP S/4HANA is required; knowledge of SAP Concur would be an added advantage.
• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and familiarity with accounting and ERP systems.
• Solid understanding of accounting principles, financial reporting processes, and month‑end close activities.
• Strong attention to detail with a high degree of accuracy, organization, and accountability.
• Effective communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to work collaboratively across teams.
• Adaptable and continuous improvement‑minded, with the ability to thrive in a dynamic environment undergoing finance transformation and automation initiatives.
