The Opportunity

An exciting opportunity exist to join Cochlear Singapore as an Accountant on a 6 month Fixed Term Contract.

Reporting to the Director of Finance & Operations, the successful Accountant will have the opportunity to drive the operational activities of the Asia Growth Markets (AGM) Finance Team and the provision of accurate and timely financial reporting. The role is also responsible for both day-to-day accounting operations, as well as an opportunity to gain exposure to APAC financial reporting, analytics and process improvement initiatives.

Responsibilities include:

  • Managing and supporting accounting functions, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, and general ledger completion.
  • Ensuring timely and accurate month-end, quarter-end and year-end closing processes are completed.
  • Completing regional month end close including booking required journals (incl. EBIT calculations) and completing reconciliations in line with the month end timetable
  • Supporting forecast of cash flow management on monthly basis.
  • Updating financial reports to support budgeting, forecasting of expenses for effective control and monitoring of expenses.
  • Consolidating monthly P&L financial performance against forecasts and provide insights of the business.
  • Assisting with the preparation of financial statements, annual tax and quarter GST reporting in compliance with local / international accounting standards.
  • Ensuring compliance with financial industry regulations and internal policies.
  • Identifying financial risks and propose mitigation strategies or process improvements.
  • Collaborate with colleagues across the APAC region within cross functional teams.
  • Coordinating with relevant internal and external stakeholders.

You Bring Your Skills and Experience

As we grow our operations, we are looking for people who share our passion for delivering quality hearing solutions to our customers. To add value to Cochlear in this role, you'll be able to demonstrate the following skills and experience:

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field.
  • Professional certifications such as CPA or CFA (preferred).
  • Proven experience in financial analysis, accounting, or a similar role, with at least 4 years of work experience.
  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft excel, data analysis, and accounting software (ERP: Oracle or SAP, Hyperion)
  • Analytical, strong in problem-solving, and communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a dynamic environment.
  • Experience with consolidation and prior exposure to South East Asia business environment is an advantage.
