Accountant

Job Description:

As an Accountant, you will play a vital role in leading the retail sector. You will work closely with various stakeholders to ensure the completion and accuracy of all financial reporting while being in compliance with local tax/audit regulations. Your deliverables to the finance department will contribute to the smooth and efficient running of the business.

Responsibilities:

1. Maintain financial security by adhering to internal controls, accounting standards, and tax requirements.
2. Reconcile discrepancies arising between the system and finance records, proactively seeking solutions to identify and minimize the differences.
3. Perform monthly closing including accounts receivable and revenue functions.
4. Prepare monthly financial and management reporting packages.
5. Perform monthly cashflow forecasts.
6. Prepare and provide accounting schedules and GST returns.
7. Support auditing and prepare Financial Statements, communicating with various stakeholders for new initiatives and process improvements.
8. Perform other related ad-hoc duties as assigned.

Requirements:

1. Possess a Bachelor’s degree in accounting or ACCA, CA, or its equivalent.
2. 2-4 years of working experience in an accounting-related field; Big 4 accounting firm experience preferred but not a must.
3. Strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to work well with people across different cultures.
4. Positive and result-driven.
5. Good sense of logic and analytical thinking.
6. A team player with good organizational skills.
7. Solid accounting knowledge as well as local tax/audit regulations.
8. Hands-on/relevant working experience in a finance operating environment.
9. Proficient in Microsoft Excel and good command of English, both written and oral.
10. Flexible and bright personality, open to committing to a dynamic environment.
