Position Description

Account Manager with a focus on the institutional distribution of our Alternative Credit, Private Real Estate, and Hedge Fund products. Strategies include opportunistic private corporate and real estate debt, private lending, contingent capital, and specialty finance.

This position will be responsible for generating new business in the organization's alternative investment strategies across existing and prospective investors and consultants, partnering with colleagues in the Institutional AM team and the broader GWM/Family Capital channels. The role is based in Singapore.

This position requires a dynamic, diplomatic, and collaborative professional. The successful candidate will:

  • Have a proven history of selling alternative funds and custom solutions.
  • Demonstrate the ability to understand and effectively explain complex, illiquid strategies.
  • Develop and monetize strong relationships with institutional investors such as sovereign wealth funds, official institutions, insurance companies, corporations, foundations/endowments, and superannuation organizations.
  • Earn the trust and credibility of fellow Account Managers, Portfolio Managers, Product Strategists, and other professionals, collaborating effectively.
  • Provide thought leadership in identifying new business opportunities and supporting the organization's initiatives to develop its alternatives platform.

Ideal Experience

5+ years of institutional business development experience across alternatives, including private equity-style vehicles, customized strategies, and hedge funds.

Candidates With Specific Backgrounds Selling

  • Corporate strategies (stressed/distressed, corporate lending, mezzanine, etc.)
  • Real estate strategies (lending, equity, debt, commercial, residential)
  • Structured credit strategies
  • Specialty finance (e.g., aviation, consumer lending)
  • Native Mandarin fluency is required as the role involves servicing Chinese clients

Education/Certifications

An advanced degree such as an MBA or candidates with a CFA or CAIA designation are preferred.

Key Responsibilities

  • Gather assets and generate new business in the organization's alternative investment strategies.
  • Develop and execute a business plan in conjunction with other Account Managers to drive growth.
  • Source new clients for the organization's alternative investment strategies.
  • Work with institutional investors and consultants to assess investment needs and recommend suitable solutions.
  • Promote the organization's alternatives through conferences, events, and branding strategies.
  • Drive alternative sales across client-facing teams in APAC.
  • Collaborate with Marketing on developing marketing efforts for alternatives.
  • Coordinate with the Global Alts Product Strategy Group.

Position Requirements

  • Ability to organize and communicate effectively with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Native Mandarin / Business-level fluency for engaging with Chinese clients.
  • Excellent knowledge of alternative investment strategies and portfolio management.
  • Understanding of the institutional sales process and the multiple players involved.
