The Account Executive Expert's primary responsibilities include prospecting, qualifying, selling, and closing new business to existing and net new customers. The Account Executive brings a Point of View to the Customer engagement; uses all resources to solve customer problems with appropriate SAP products.

  1. Account and Customer Relationship Management, Sales and Software License and Cloud Subscription Revenue
  • Develop effective and specific account plans to ensure revenue target delivery and sustainable growth. Build relationships in new and existing customers and leverage these to drive strategy through the organization.
  • Establish strong relationships based on knowledge of customer requirements and commitment to value, building a foundation for future business opportunities.
  • Understand each customer's technology footprint, strategic growth plans, and industry trends by reviewing public information and staying updated on market issues.
  • Lead designated territory, including accounts and sales cycles, encouraging all accounts to become SAP references.
  • Develop and deliver comprehensive business plans addressing customer priorities, utilizing ROI data to support decision-making.

2. Demand Generation, Pipeline and Opportunity Management

  • Maintain a disciplined approach to pipeline management, keeping it current and active.
  • Leverage support organizations and SAP solutions to generate and advance sales opportunities.
  • Execute sales strategies to close opportunities, support promotions, and execute up-selling and cross-selling initiatives.
  • Maintain accurate CRM data and understand SAP's competitive landscape.

3. Leading a (Virtual) Account Team

  • Demonstrate leadership in orchestrating remote teams and ensure account teams and partners are aligned with account strategies.

Experience & Language Requirements

  • 10+ years in sales of complex business software/IT solutions
  • Proven success in business application software sales and team-selling environments
  • Experience with large transactions and long sales cycles in competitive markets
  • Preferred experience engaging with C-suites in Higher Education and Government sectors
