We are seeking experienced industry professionals in Cybersecurity who are looking to transition into an academic or teaching career. As a Professional Officer, you will bring your specialized technical expertise and industry insights into the classroom, creating authentic learning environments for students. You will play a crucial role in mentoring students through practical learning experiences such as laboratory sessions, Capstone Projects, and the Integrated Work Study Programme (IWSP). Additionally, you will collaborate on applied research and innovation projects, providing industry-driven solutions to real-world challenges.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Design and teach practical lab sessions and practice modules in cybersecurity.
2. Mentor and guide students on Capstone Projects and the Integrated Work Study Programme (IWSP).
3. Lead or collaborate on innovation projects with industry partners, addressing real-world cybersecurity challenges.
4. Manage and maintain laboratory facilities and equipment to support academic programs and applied research.
5. Ensure safety and compliance in lab environments, adhering to industry standards and regulations.

Education & Certifications:

1. Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Cybersecurity, Information Security, Network Security, or a related field from a recognized university.
2. Industry certifications such as OSCP, CISSP, or CEH are highly advantageous.

Experience:

1. Proven expertise in implementing security policies and creating layered defense mechanisms for networks, servers, and cloud-based systems.
2. Hands-on experience with Penetration Testing Methodologies and familiarity with the MITRE ATT&CK/FiGHT Framework.
3. Strong knowledge of security tools, including firewalls, IDS/IPS, endpoint security, SIEM, mobile security, and encryption technologies.
4. Experience with network protocols, system hardening, and secure coding practices.
5. Practical experience in incident response and forensic investigations, identifying, containing, and mitigating security breaches.
6. Ability to automate security tasks through scripting (e.g., Python, Java).
7. Basic experience in deploying cloud or on-premise infrastructure for red team exercises.

Soft Skills & Mindset:

1. A self-starter with a problem-solving mindset and a passion for exploring and integrating new security technologies.
2. Strong ability to work with students and researchers to design and implement cybersecurity experiments and projects.
3. Active involvement in internet-related organizations, such as APNIC, ISOC, or network professional certification bodies like Cisco Academy or CompTIA.
4. Enthusiasm for contributing to open-source solutions and collaborative projects with students, researchers, and industry professionals.
