STARRY RECRUITMENT PTE. LTD. is seeking a 6G Wireless Researcher focused on wireless communication algorithms for immersive and tactile internet.

You will tackle PHY/MAC design, ML-based optimization, and cross-modal data processing, aiming to push the boundaries of latency, reliability, and throughput in next-generation networks. This role requires a PhD or equivalent research track and involves prototype validation and international standardization work.

Qualifications

• PhD (or MS degree with strong research experience) in Electronic Engineering, Communication Engineering or Computer Science (or a closely related discipline).
• Proven research track record (publications, patents, or impactful projects) in immersive communications, wireless algorithms, or cross-modal streaming.
• Strong programming skills in Python, C++, or MATLAB for algorithm development.
• Experience in prototype implementation and system-level validation of communication technologies.
• Familiarity with ML approaches like CNNs, RNNs, Transformers, RL, or FL for QoE optimization.

Responsibilities

• Design novel PHY/MAC layer algorithms and architectures for immersive communications with low latency, high reliability, and high throughput.
• Develop and apply ML techniques for adaptive cross-modal streaming and resource allocation.
• Research and evaluate emerging transmission paradigms for immersive communications.
• Lead or contribute to end-to-end system development from simulations to real-time prototype validation.

Role Overview

We are seeking a passionate researcher to join our team at the forefront of 6G immersive communications, focusing on haptic/tactile internet and multi-sensory communication. The tasks of this role encompass advancing wireless communication theory, AI-driven optimization, and hands-on system prototyping to shape the emerging applications in immersive communications.

Key Responsibilities

• Design novel PHY/MAC layer algorithms and architectures that enables immersive communications with stringent latency, reliability, and throughput requirements.

• Develop and apply advanced machine learning techniques for adaptive cross-modal streaming, resource allocation, and multi-modal data compression.

• Research and evaluate emerging paradigms in advanced transmission technologies for immersive communications.

• Lead or contribute to end-to-end system development, from algorithm simulation to real-time prototype validation for immersive use cases.

• Contribute to international standardization efforts and ecosystem development initiatives.

Requirements

• PhD (or MS degree with strong research experience) in Electronic Engineering, Communication Engineering or Computer Science (or a closely related discipline).

• Proven research track record (publications, patents, or impactful projects) in one or more of the following:

• Immersive communications (multi-sensory, tactile/haptic internet)

• Wireless communication algorithms (low-latency, high-reliability, high-throughput)

• Multi-modal and cross-modal streaming and compression

• Proficient in deep learning (CNN, RNN, Transformers), reinforcement learning (RL), or federated learning (FL) for immersive QoE optimization.
