Job summary

Recruit Express Pte Ltd is seeking an Electrical Engineer to join our healthcare construction team in Singapore. You will review electrical engineering drawings, ensure compliance with clinical requirements, codes, and standards, and support testing and commissioning activities.

Work with consultants, contractors and cross-discipline teams to resolve design issues, coordinate installations on site, prepare as-built documentation, and ensure regulatory licensing requirements are met for

Qualifications

• Degree in Electrical Engineering or related discipline.
• 2–3 years of relevant experience in design, construction or commissioning of electrical systems in major building projects.

Responsibilities

• Review electrical engineering drawings, specifications, and submissions for compliance with clinical requirements, building codes, and healthcare standards.
• Identify gaps or discrepancies and coordinate with consultants to resolve them before on-site works.
• Ensure LV/HV distribution, emergency power, UPS, lighting, and BMS meet hospital operational needs.
• Attend site inspections, review RFIs and COs, and keep programme on track.
• Coordinate with mechanical, structural, and architectural teams to resolve cross-discipline clashes.
• Support testing, commissioning, and handover; review reports and ensure rectification before completion.
• Maintain records of submissions, approvals, test results, and as-built documentation; ensure regulatory compliance.

Responsibilities

Design Review & Technical Compliance

• Review electrical engineering drawings, specifications, and submissions from consultants and contractors to verify compliance with clinical requirements, Singapore building codes, and international healthcare standards.
• Identify technical gaps or discrepancies in design submissions and work with consultants to resolve them before works proceed on site.
• Ensure all electrical systems - including LV/HV distribution, emergency power, UPS, lighting, and building management systems - are designed to meet the operational requirements of a high-acuity hospital environment.

Construction Oversight & Site Coordination

• Attend site inspections and technical meetings to monitor the installation of electrical systems against approved drawings and specifications.
• Review and assess requests for information (RFIs), site queries, and variation orders relating to electrical works, providing timely technical responses to keep the programme on track.
• Coordinate with the mechanical, structural, and architectural teams to resolve cross-discipline clashes and ensure integrated systems deliver

Testing, Commissioning & Handover

• Support the testing and commissioning of all electrical systems, ensuring that performance meets design intent and clinical operational requirements.
• Review commissioning reports, inspection records, and test results, identifying deficiencies and ensuring rectification before practical completion.

Documentation & Compliance

• Maintain accurate records of electrical submissions, approvals, test results, and as-built documentation throughout the project lifecycle.
• Ensure all electrical installations comply with relevant regulatory requirements, including BCA, EMA, SCDF, and MOH licensing standards applicable to healthcare facilities.

Requirements

• Degree in Electrical Engineering or a related discipline
• 2-3 years of relevant experience, with prior involvement in the design, construction, or commissioning of electrical systems in major building projects
