Job summary

A*STAR - Agency for Science, Technology and Research in Singapore is seeking an IT Networking professional to ensure audit compliance for network gear and lead security vulnerability management. You will manage PoC projects and support audits while maintaining network diagrams and configuration documentation.

You will also monitor performance, provide technical support, and collaborate with vendors, with occasional after-hours work for deployments and outages.

Qualifications

• Diploma in IT or equivalent is required.
• At least 3 years of IT networking experience (LAN, wireless, network ops).
• Experience in audit compliance and vulnerability management is preferred.
• CCNA certification is an added advantage.
• Foundational AI skills are an added advantage.
• Strong English communication skills; able to document clearly.
• Good problem solving, multitasking, and team collaboration.
• Flexible to perform after-hours support when needed.

Responsibilities

• Perform audit compliance checks and ensure compliance for all network equipment.
• Manage software security and vulnerability management; report status on devices.
• Oversee PoC projects to improve network infrastructure.
• Participate in / support network and security audits.
• Create and maintain network configuration docs, diagrams, and service records.
• Restore or alter configurations to maintain service integrity.
• Develop and maintain policies, procedures, and disaster recovery training.
• Research network security products, protocols, and standards; stay current.
• Manage network assets and servers; maintain inventory and specs.
• Monitor network performance and provide reports and statistics.
• Provide 1st level technical support and design/customize solutions.
• Coordinate with external vendors to resolve escalated issues.
• After office hours support may be required for deployments and outages.

• Perform software security and vulnerability management, including tracking and status reporting on network and security related devices.
• Managing of proof of concept (POC) projects for the improvement of the network infrastructure.
• Participate / Support in network/network security related audit(s).
• Create and maintain documentation of network configuration, network diagram, mapping, processes, and service records.
• Drive efforts to restore, recover, or alter configurations, logical or physical, to maintain service integrity.
• Assist in developing, implementing, and maintaining policies, procedures, and associated training plans for network administration, usage, and disaster recovery.
• Conduct research on network / network security products, services, protocols, and standards to remain abreast of developments in the IT industry.
• Managing of proof of concept (POC) projects for the improvement of the network infrastructure.
• Manage network assets and servers, including maintenance of network component inventory and related documentation and technical specifications information.
• Monitor and test network performance and provide network performance statistics and reports.

Requirements

• Minimum Diploma in IT or equivalent.
• Minimum 3 year of IT networking experience in LAN, Wireless and Network Operations.
• Experience in audit compliance, vulnerability management.
• Network certifications, such as CCNA is an added advantage.
• IT related certifications, such as Foundational AI skills is an added advantage.
• Strong communications and written skills in English.
• Excellent problem-solving skills in a multi-tasking, fast-paced and complex work environment.
• Good communication skill, positive attitude, team player, resourceful and resolve problems with minimum supervision.
• Flexible to work after office hours due to nature of IT support and service oriented.
• Basic understanding of AI tools and methodologies, with demonstrated ability to leverage modern productivity and AI technologies for technical documentation and problem-solving.
