Job summary

A leading HR advisory firm in Singapore is seeking an experienced Pastry Chef. The ideal candidate will have at least 5 years of experience with pastries and cakes, proficiency in managing inventory, and an ability to supervise kitchen staff. Responsibilities include maintaining quality and preparation of desserts, while ensuring compliance with health standards. The role offers a salary between $2,500 and $3,500, with the potential for overtime.

Qualifications

  • Minimum 5 years of experience working with pastries and cakes in catering, bakery, or cake shops.
  • Good knowledge of various cakes, pastries, cookies, chocolates, and desserts.
  • Ability to complete various types of cakes (cream-based, mousse-based, cheese cakes).

Responsibilities

  • Follow instructions from Supervisor/Junior Sous Chefs to perform tasks efficiently.
  • Manage inventory and liaise with relevant departments for purchasing.
  • Handle daily preparation, production, and storage of raw materials and finished goods.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and sanitary cooking station.
  • Maintain records for ISO 22000 / HACCP / HALAL certifications.
  • Supervise the Commis Chef.

Job description

Location: Mandai

Working Days: 5/6 days per week (Monday - Sunday)

Working Hours: 44 hours, with rotating shifts

Salary: $2,500 - $3,500 + OT (Dependent on experience)

Job Scope:
  • Follow instructions from Supervisor/Junior Sous Chefs to perform tasks efficiently within acceptable time frames
  • Manage inventory and liaise with relevant departments for purchasing
  • Handle daily preparation, production, and storage of raw materials and finished goods, maintaining quality and controlling costs
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and sanitary cooking station in compliance with health and safety standards
  • Maintain records for ISO 22000 / HACCP / HALAL certifications as required
  • Supervise the Commis Chef
Requirements:
  • Minimum 5 years of experience working with pastries and cakes in catering, bakery, or cake shops
  • Good knowledge of various cakes, pastries, cookies, chocolates, and desserts
  • Knowledge of local trends, tastes, and flavor profiles is a plus
