Morgan Stanley invites talented undergraduates to a 10–12 week Technology Summer Analyst Program in May 2027. You will gain hands-on experience across Application Development and Cybersecurity, working on live projects with experienced mentors and participating in demonstrations and team-building events.

Qualifications

• Penultimate year in a technical degree with expected graduation between Oct 2027 and Jul 2028.
• Strong problem solving, analytical thinking and collaboration.
• Proficiency in at least one programming language (Python/Java/C++/C#) preferred.
• Familiarity with Linux/Unix and Windows environments; basic scripting and data concepts.
• Fluency in English; prior fintech exposure not required.

Responsibilities

• Join Application Development or Cybersecurity teams on live projects.
• Contribute to design, development, testing and deployment of applications.
• Engage in mentoring, technical demos, and team-building activities during the internship.

Internship Programs

Summer Analysts begin with a one-day orientation where they are introduced to the Firm's businesses and learn what it is like to be an employee at Morgan Stanley, followed by direct placement into their teams. In addition to working on a live project, program highlights include personalized mentoring, technical demonstrations, team‑building opportunities, social events and participation in the Firm’s community service initiatives.

The program is designed to equip you with the necessary skills to make real‑world impact and a difference for the Firm and our clients. When you join your team, you become a vital and integral part of the equation to success.

Role and Responsibilities

As a Summer Analyst, you will be placed into one of the following teams. Team allocations will be determined based on a mutual fit, taking into consideration your interest and skill set, business needs and management decision.

• Application Development Teams (Institutional Securities Technology): Our development teams design, develop, maintain and protect applications used by our business units to deliver first‑class business in a first‑class way for our clients. Developers build and make system design decisions, then integrate, test and deploy those applications into production. Developing high‑performing, low‑latency electronic trading systems, and evolving complex workflows and life‑cycle management capabilities are just some of the projects available for developers.
• Cybersecurity Teams (Cyber Data Risk & Resilience): Cybersecurity team’s mission is to proactively deliver first‑line defenses to manage cyber and fraud risks to our technology, operations and information through risk identification, control management and assurance. Our teams deliver programs that protect and enable the business, ensure secure delivery of services to clients, adjust to address the risks presented by an evolving threat landscape and meet regulatory expectations.

Qualifications and Skills

• Candidates must be in the penultimate year of a Bachelor's, Master's, or Doctoral degree program, with an expected graduation date between October 2027 and July 2028, in disciplines such as Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Data Science, Data Analytics, Electrical Engineering, Financial Engineering, Mathematics, Software Engineering, or other related technical majors
• Strong problem‑solving ability, analytical thinking, effective communication skills, and a collaborative, results‑driven mindset
• Proficiency in at least one programming language such as Python, Java, C++, C#, or similar languages is preferred
• Understanding of artificial intelligence concepts, including but not limited to prompt engineering and applied AI systems
• Good technical fundamentals, including familiarity with Linux/Unix and Windows environments, object‑oriented development, data structures, algorithms, computational complexity, and experience with databases and scripting
• Experience in the financial services industry is not required
• Fluency in spoken and written English is required

• Summer Analyst Program: 10 – 12 weeks between May and August 2027
