Job summary

Nomura invites penultimate-year students to join its Summer Internship in Singapore within Global Markets. The program runs for nine weeks starting June 2027, offering onboarding, orientation, and exposure to Sales, Trading, Structuring, and Research functions.

About the Program

Being part of our Summer Internship program means you will gain first-hand experience and insights to a career in markets. You will have the opportunity to feel our culture, acquire valuable on-the-job training and expand your network. This program is a key pipeline for our Graduate Analyst Program in Asia.

The Summer Internship program will commence in June 2027 and run for nine weeks in our Singapore office. You will be provided with orientation and induction training in the first week, which will typically comprise of business overview sessions where you will learn more about our products, businesses and meet with different representatives across the firm.

After the induction, you will join one of the teams in Global Markets, ranging from Sales, Structuring, Trading, and Research, in order to give you a meaningful internship experience and help you develop by providing you with significant and diverse responsibilities throughout the program.

Internship Responsibilities

• Sales: Developing and maintaining strong relationships with institutional clients, including pension funds, hedge funds, insurance companies and other corporate clients.
• Trading: Assisting the trading desk in buying and selling securities on behalf of clients or the firm; market making and capital commitment.
• Structuring: Designing and developing innovative products and strategies for Nomura's clients, in partnership with the trading function, to create a risk management strategy for structured transactions and, together with sales, to create a marketing strategy for our products.
• Research: Collecting, analysing and assessing industry and company information to assist the research analysts in providing market insight and investment ideas for institutional investors and internal clients.
• Strategy: Shaping Nomura’s near and longer term strategy across Nomura’s Global Market businesses globally by working closely with senior leadership on a range of management initiatives including business expansion strategy, market & competitor analysis, business planning and performance reviews, and client strategy.
