Job summary

A leading company in heritage engineering is seeking a Heritage Engineer to produce assessment reports and conduct surveys. The role requires a degree in Built Heritage or Architecture and at least two years of relevant experience. Candidates should possess a good understanding of the heritage-built environment and Southeast Asia history, with opportunities for professional development.

Qualifications

  • Minimum two (2) years working experience in the Built Environment.
  • A class 3 driving license is desirable.
  • Willing to travel and station overseas.

Responsibilities

  • Producing heritage assessment reports such as Heritage Statements.
  • Undertaking site-walkover surveys and archival research.
  • Liaising with clients and stakeholders to enhance the historic environment.

Job description

Heritage Engineer

Address: Boon Lay Way, 609966 (candidate may be required to do site visits)

Salary: $3000 to $4500

Working days: Mon to Fri 9am to 6.30pm (may have work overtime to complete deadlines set by the clients, engineer may offset hours if need worked on Saturday as an off-in-lieu on weekdays.)

Requirements
  • Degree in Built Heritage or Architecture (or equivalent).
  • Other Built Environment Degree (in Building, Conservation, etc.) will be considered.
  • Minimum Two (2) years working experience in the Built Environment or Built Heritage Environment.
  • Experience and Working Knowledge of the heritage-built environment and regulation of Singapore.
  • A good understanding of Southeast Asia history is desirable.
  • Two (2) year Contract subject to further extension based on mutual agreement.
  • A class 3 driving license is desirable.
  • Willing to travel and station overseas.
Job scope
  1. Producing heritage assessment reports, such as Heritage Statements, Statements of Significance, Environment/Heritage Impact Reports and Building Recording Reports.
  2. Undertaking archival research and preparing desk-based assessments.
  3. Undertaking site-walkover surveys, archive and library visits.
  4. Liaising with clients and stakeholders to help deliver great schemes and identify opportunities to enhance the historic environment.
  5. Working with other professionals, including designers, engineers and environmental specialists, to benefit our clients and the environment.
  6. Managing heritage surveys such as historic building condition assessments or recordings.
  7. Being part of a supportive team that works together to produce high-quality project work and encourages professional development.
