Job summary

Lyten is seeking a Vision Automation Engineer to develop, optimize and maintain machine vision for high‑throughput production. You will program and troubleshoot cameras, lighting, and image processing to ensure defect traceability and quality.

You’ll collaborate across production, engineering, and maintenance to drive reliability and scalability of vision systems, including OPC connectivity. You have 3+ years in industrial automation, a relevant bachelor’s degree, and strong skills in

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in electronics, mechatronics, automation, robotics, or software engineering.
Minimum 3 years in industrial automation in manufacturing environments.
Experience with camera systems, optics, and lighting calibration.
Experience in machine vision and PLC/SCADA/MES integration via OPC.
Experience developing image processing pipelines and vision algorithms.
Proficiency with Python, C++, OpenCV, or equivalent libraries.
Strong documentation and continuous improvement capabilities.

Responsibilities

Participate in HAZOP and ensure safety, operational and environmental compliance.
Lead vision system integration and calibration during commissioning and line re-starts.
Develop and reverse-engineer vision inspection systems for production equipment.
Document specifications, functional design, logic diagrams, test cases and records.
Train and mentor engineers on machine vision, optics and quality gates.
Review suppliers' vision software and validate defect-detection thresholds.
Participate in R&D for piloting new technologies in production environments.
Define and improve factory blueprint and working practices with automation teams.
Contribute to software process improvements within the automation group.
Regularly spend on-site; ~25% of time, with possible peaks on shop floor.
