Job summary

LKAB is seeking a Geotechnical Geologist to join our team in Sweden. You will build and develop geotechnical understanding to support safe, sustainable underground mining, working with data collection, modelling, technical studies and project development alongside colleagues from geology, rock mechanics, seismology and project management.

You will coordinate data acquisition, plan drilling programs with stakeholders, create and maintain geotechnical models, contribute to studies and reporting,

Qualifications

• Master of Science in Mining Engineering, Engineering Geology, Geology, or related field.
• Experience from exploration geology or engineering geology.
• Experience from underground mining environments.
• Fluency in English; Swedish language skills desirable.
• Valid driving license (Swedish category B).

Responsibilities

• Coordinate geotechnical data acquisition, modelling and model application.
• Plan and budget drilling programs with stakeholders.
• Create, maintain and improve geotechnical models.
• Contribute to technical studies and reporting.
• Participate in infrastructure and mining development projects.
• Collaborate with consultants and internal stakeholders on critical mining studies.
