Two Senior Lecturers in Medical Research

Lund University, founded in 1666, is a world‑ranked university located in Lund. The Faculty of Medicine welcomes applicants for two permanent, full‑time positions for senior lecturers in medical research.

Position Overview

The appointments will be within the Faculty of Medicine; departmental placement will be decided at the time of appointment. The positions are not combined roles and cannot be converted.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead independent, high‑quality research projects in medical research.
• Secure and manage competitive research funding as a principal investigator.
• Publish in peer‑reviewed journals, with emphasis on senior author papers.
• Supervise M.Sc. and Ph.D. students and supervise teaching in first‑ and second‑cycle education.
• Teach courses and deliver lectures in the relevant discipline.
• Take on leadership and administrative duties within the department or faculty.
• Engage in academic community activities and collaborate with international partners.

Required Qualifications

• Ph.D. in a medically relevant field.
• Demonstrated teaching expertise and successful teaching record.
• Evidence of independent research with national/international impact.
• Established research profile: distinct research line, post‑doctoral experience elsewhere, competitive funding, senior‑author publications.
• Completed at least five weeks of training in teaching and learning in higher education (or equivalent skills); if not, completion within first two years is required.
• Scientific competence at a high national and international standard.
• Ability to supervise Ph.D. and M.Sc. students and to lead research groups.
