Job summary

Alstom Transport AB in Västerås is seeking a Traction Electrical Design Engineer focused on Electrical Harness Integration (EHI). You will drive design activities across the product life cycle, from concept through to field support, reporting to the Head of Converter Electrical Engineering.

You will collaborate with engineering, manufacturing and supplier teams to deliver propulsion products globally, defining interfaces and ensuring documentation is in place for successful integration.

Qualifications

• Degree in Electrical Engineering, Higher Vocational Education specialized in Electric Power or equivalent education.
• Some experience in relevant field of electrical engineering (Traction engineering, Electrical Harness Integration and design).
• English, business fluent, is mandatory for this role; Swedish is an advantage.

Responsibilities

• Design and Integrate Electrical Harness and all relevant documentation for traction products.
• Plan and lead the work of a small project team of engineers onsite and offsite.
• Drive and support technical investigations and design activities for products in development and in the field.
• Define electrical interfaces.
• Collaborate with system, mechanical, manufacturing and test engineers.
• Analyze customer requirements.
• Support development activities: electrical harness design, prototype and pre‑series in production.
• Support bid activities by translating customer/system requirements into circuit design requirements.
• Review work and provide guidance to colleagues.
